"I said 'PASS' and the pop server said..."Document ID: 1444HQ
When trying to check for mail, Eudora produces a dialog box that says: There has been an error transferring your mail. I said "Pass SHHHH" and the POP server said....
The error message should give you some idea about what is causing the problem. Here are the two most common "Pass SHHHH" error messages-
"ERR. PASSWORD SUPPLIED FOR USER IS INCORRECT"
This error message means that Eudora connected to the mail server specified in your settings and told it your username and password, but the server rejected them. If you have forgotten or lost your password, you will have to contact your ISP or network administrator to reset it. Double check the following:
If you are not completely sure that these settings are correct, contact your ISP or network administrator
Keep in mind that usernames and passwords are often case-sensitive. Double check to make sure the Caps-lock key isn't on when you are typing your password.
"ERR. POP LOCK BUSY."
POP servers do not allow multiple concurrent connections. If you have two or more computers trying to check the same mail account at the exact same time, the second computer trying to check the account will get this error message that the POP Lock is Busy. Wait for a few minutes and then check for mail again, or contact your ISP or Network Administrator if the problem continues.
