[Acrobat Reader® ] - [Apple QuickTime®] - [Text-to-Speech] A great many documents, including two that come with Eudora, are now delivered as PDF (Portable Document Format) files. The standard tool for viewing PDF documents is Adobe's Acrobat Reader. Installing it will enable you to read the Eudora User Manual and the "what's new" document. Adobe Acrobat Reader® is a free download. We recommend using Adobe Acrobat Reader® version 4 or higher. QuickTime enhances Eudora's built-in message viewing with inline display of a wider variety of images, including the full set of JPEG formats, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and Macintosh PICT. Apple QuickTime® is a free download. We recommend using Apple QuickTime® version 4 or higher. Microsoft® Agent Eudora can "speak" the subject and/or sender's name on incoming messages that you specify. For details, search for "speak" in the Eudora user manual or in Help. In order to use this feature, you need to have a sound card and a sound card device driver that is supported in Windows. You also need to install Microsoft's Speech Application Programming Interface (SAPI) and a SAPI-compliant text-to-speech engine such as the one below. SAPI 4.0 runtime support: Download for Text-to-Speech: If you are using one of the Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT operating systems, you will need to download the Microsoft core components. Microsoft core components: NOTE: You do not need to download the core components if you are using Microsoft Windows XP, Windows ME, or Windows 2000.
